A Springboard to Gratitude Day 4

by montejosmemorials on June 28, 2014

Here is a part of my devotion this morning from Jesus Calling.

"Taste and see that I am good. This command gives an invitation to experience My living Presence. It also contains a promise. The more you experience Me, the more convinced you become of my goodness. This knowledge is essential to your faith walk. when adversaries strike, the human instinct is to doubt My goodness. My ways are mysterious, even to those who know Me intimately. As the heavens are higher than the earth, so are My ways and thoughts higher than your ways and thoughts. Do not try to fathom My ways. Instead spend time enjoying Me and experiencing my goodness."

I definitely know that when I spend more time in God’s presence, I experience more gratitude.
I can’t help but be changed by God’s presence.

Taste and see that the Lord is good; blessed is the man who takes refuge in him. Psalm 34:8

I am so thankful for the resources we have to help us experience God’s presence. In our country most of us have several Bible’s, written, digital, and audio versions, devotion books, access to good praise and worship music, churches of different styles to minister to our individual likes, and the list goes on.

I often take for granted the shelves of books I have, but when we are in Guatemala and I can’t just walk to the bookshelf and find a resource or get on Amazon and order one, or google, it reminds me how blessed we are. I also believe there is a flip side to that. We can have all of the resources in the world and if we don’t use them, they haven’t helped us at all.

On one of our trips to my husband’s village in Guatemala, we bought Bible’s for all of his immediate family before we came home. Even though several of them weren’t saved, they treasured the Bible’s and read them because having a book was a treat. Several years later almost all of them have come to know the Lord. Spending time in God’s presence, changed them, for eternity! That’s definitely something to be grateful for!

Please make sure to participate in this challenge. You can do that on my Facebook page or comment below. You never know what can change by using gratitude as a springboard in your life. Also get your name on our list for your free newsletter, so you don’t miss any updates. Let’s encourage each other and ourselves with the things we are grateful for and be propelled forward into the things God has for us and a lifestyle of thankfulness.

Since tomorrow is Sunday, the challenge will be a little different and will only take a moment, but will be a lot of fun, so don’t miss it!
